You won’t believe what happened to Jamaica’s population

The shape is thicker at the bottom and slowly thins out, with a bulge in the 20-30 ages. The amount of younger people is larger than the number of older people.

The reason for this may be a high birth rate and a lower average age. Relatively low social and economic development in Jamaica can explain this. The small number of elderly means that there is a low dependency rate but it also means that life expectancy is not high. not many even live to be 80.
