In Hong Kong, Education Bureau allowed 294 kindergartens to increase their fees for full-day classes starting from 2018. Among 294, 14 kindergartens are charging more than HK$20,000 annually. By increasing price, there are perspectives that government subsidy are not enough to cover the rising cost.

Thankfully, the government scheme started last year to provide hefty subsidies for about 740 kindergartens. By the help of the government, the parents pressure of paying the tuition fee has decreased. Therefore, they could keep on affording their child small amount of food or activities.
